The nantwich-supper-club is run by Rob Reynolds.
Meals are served on set dates throughout the year. Each menu has a specific seasonal theme. There are 4 menus, each of which is usually served twice - depending on demand:
- February Accompaniments for a roast
- May Spring
- September Late Summer
- November Autumn
It is likely that the same pattern will be followed in 2018. See REVIEWS for detailed menus of past meals and their evaluations.
The n-s-c is not a business and does not charge for meals. Instead, it relies on donations to cover the cost of ingredients and overheads. For 2019, diners will be asked to contribute £25 per person (unchanged since 2012) towards the cost of their meal. There are no facilities for credit or debit cards.
You can book a place by e-mailing the n-s-c and giving your name (or names if you are coming in a couple). You may reserve places for others by providing names and e-mail addresses for your companions (one e-mail address per couple will do). Alternatively, you can reserve places and ask your companions to contact the n-s-c themselves. In all cases, booking is confirmed to the individual diner. 2 servings – usually a week apart - are offered for each of the 4 seasonal menus during the year. 16 is the minimum number of bookings needed for a serving to go ahead. To avoid having 2 half-filled – and therefore cancelled – servings, booking for the second date officially opens only when the first serving reaches 16 bookings. You may, however, reserve places for the second serving and these will be confirmed as soon as numbers for the first reach 16.
n-s-c also caters for private parties of about 20 people. It has catered for a works outing (22 diners), 2 birthday parties (21 + 17), 2 Wedding Anniversary Celebrations (18 + 23) and a meal in the programme of the Nantwich Wine Appreciation Society (26).
The arrangements (including venue and suggested donation) are the same as for a normal n-s-c event and the menu is agreed in consultation with the organisers.
